Along with beautiful greenways and parks across the city, Charlotte has several parks for dogs of all breeds and sizes to run around and play with other pets.
Whether you are a pet-owner or just a dog-lover in general, below is a list of a few dog parks you should visit with your furry friend.
1. Barkingham Park
2900 Rocky River Road
Barkingham Park is located within Reedy Creek Park, and has several acres of land for dogs to roam off-leash within the enclosed space. About half of the dog park is shaded and half is open fields, which makes this park great for every season.
2. Davie Dog Park
4635 Pineville-Matthews Road
Located at
William R. Davie District Park, Davie Dog Park has two fenced-in areas, one for small dogs and one for larger dogs. Within the enclosures are several benches and tables so you can relax while your pup runs free.
3. Frazier Park
208 S Sycamore St.
Located off I-77 near West Trade, Frazier Park is a smaller dog park with sections for small dogs and larger dogs. As a note for families, children under the age of twelve are not allowed inside the dog park for safety precautions.
4. Ray's Fetching Meadow
8711 Monroe Road
Ray’s Fetching Meadow is a small fenced-in area located at McAlpine Creek Community Park. Since it is a smaller area, it is great for dogs of all sizes to socialize. Ray’s Fetching Meadow is a great park to visit during the cooler seasons, as there are not as many shaded areas within the fenced-in space.
5. Swaney Pointe K-9 Park
18441 Nantz Road
Located at Ramsey Creek Park in Cornelius, Swaney Pointe K-9 Park has several acres of land for dogs to wander off-leash, and it is just a few miles from the city. There also are two separate areas for smaller dogs and larger dogs.
